Overview

What is Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that is used to make the surface of the teeth appear whiter and brighter. The effects of teeth whitening are not permanent and can last anywhere from a few months to three years. The amount of time the effects last for varies between individuals, but, in general, the effects do not last as long if a person stains their teeth through smoking or drinking tea, coffee or red wine.

Procedure

  • Oral examination and consultation to determine the desired teeth colour.
  • Covering of lips and gums leaving the teeth exposed.
  • Application of the Philips Zoom whitening gel.
  • The Zoom laser light activation to commence the whitening procedure to work in conjunction with the applied gel for an initial 15-minute session.
  • Repeating the same procedure for further sessions up to a total of 45 to 60 minutes depending on the patient’s needs.
  • Sensitivity reducing gel application.

Advanced Technology, Proven Results

Zoom WhiteSpeed is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes. In a study,   WhiteSpeed   provided over 50% better results than   Opalescence Boost   immediately following the procedure and after seven and thirty days. That’s thanks in part to WhiteSpeed’s advanced LED light technology, which emits at the optimal light spectrum with 100% greater light intensity than the closest competitive lamp. When combined with the pH booster in the whitening gel, the advanced blue LED technology greatly accelerates the whitening process, delivering dramatic results in just one office visit.

Variable Settings

With adjustable settings of low, medium and high, WhiteSpeed’s customizable intensity settings help ensure each patient receives a comfortable, positive whitening experience catered to them. In fact, 99% of consumers experienced little to no sensitivity with Zoom WhiteSpeed.

Zoom IsoPrep Retractors

IsoPrep Retractors are engineered to provide superior protection of the lips and soft tissue while allowing access to the facial side of teeth and gums.

Each Zoom kit includes one universal and one small retractor. Additional retractors can also be ordered. To decide which size of IsoPrep retractor is the most appropriate for you, your dentist might use an impression tray size as a guide. The universal size is best for medium to large mouths, while the small size is best suited for small mouths.
